PEMBROKE - Frederick Lee Snidow, age 74, died Sunday morning, February 17, 1991, at his home. A native of Giles County, he was the son of the late Grover G. and Margaret Ann Givens Snidow. He was retired from the Hoechst-Celanese Corporation with 40 years service in textile and extrusion engineering. He was a life-long member of the First United Methodist Church, Pembroke; a dedicated family man; and since his retirement in 1978, he had been busy with his carpenter shop and saw sharpening business. He is survived by his wife, Dicy Tingler Snidow; his sons and daughters-in-law, Winfred Lee and Brenda Snidow, Melvin Dale and Kathy Snidow, Graydon Wallace and Lois Snidow, all of Pembroke; four sisters, Katherine Campbell, Tampa, Fla.; Mary Bales, Pearisburg; Gertrude Williams and Roma Collins, both of Pembroke; seven grandchildren, Sherry, Debbie, Kevin, Beth, Becky, Karen, and Lisa. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. in the First United Methodist Church, Pembroke, with the Rev. Lowell Stovall and the Rev. Eddie Kendall officiating. Burial will be in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. The family will receive friends at the Kendall Funeral Home, Pembroke, Monday evening from 6:00 to 9:00.
