Keith Bolte, the town's assistant fire chief, said firefighters could see smoke coming out of the roof when they arrived shortly after 5 p.m. There was a heavy smell of fuel oil in the air.
Bolte had no immediate damage estimate but said the smoke had filled the furniture showroom. Firefighters installed exhaust fans to clear the smoke from the store.
