PLAYOFF GAME SLATED FOR PIONEER BOYS' TITLE

James River and Covington will play off for the regular-season Pioneer District boys' basketball title Friday night at 7:30 at Natural Bridge.

The teams wound up the regular season with 14-4 district records.

The playoff winner will qualify for the Region C tournament in two weeks at Emory & Henry College and will need to win only one game to make the Group A tournament. The loser will have to battle back through next week's Pioneer District tournament to make the Region C tournament. - Staff report
