Samuel Cooper, age 73, of 2217 Orange Ave., N.W., formerly of Franklin County and Washington, D.C., died Saturday, February 16. He is survived by his stepmother, Mrs. Minnie Cooper, Union Hall; four sisters, Mrs. Mary Poindexter; Mrs. Thelma Cooper, both of Union Mall; Mrs. Lucy Cropps; Mrs. Cora Jones, both of Washington, D.C.; three brothers, Roosevelt Cooper, Washington, D.C.; Ernest Cooper, Rocky Mount, George Cooper, Catawba; one great-aunt, Mrs. Mandy C. Tabb, Berksville; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Elizabeth Cooper, Greensboro, N.C.; a devoted niece, Mrs. Willie Ester McCullough, Roanoke; a devoted friend, Odell McMillian, Washington, D.C.; a host of other nieces; and nephews; other relatives; and friends. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, 7:00 p.m. at Stanfield Mortunary Chapel with the Rev. James D. Holland officiating. Friends may call at Stanfield Mortuary Chapel on Friday from 9 a.m. until the funeral. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:00 p.m. Friday. Interment 10:00 a.m. Saturday in the Wade Family Cemetery.
