OBIT-WILKERSON, J.

Jasper Eugene Wilkerson, age 93, of Roanoke, died Wednesday in a Salem nursing home. He was a charter member of the Winter Hills United Methodist Church and a 50 year employee of the Norfolk Southern Railroad. He was predeceased by his wife, Ella Phillippi Wilkerson. Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Harold and Carolyn Wilkerson of Salem; daughter and son-in-law, Vern and Frank Lane of Huntington, N.Y.; three grandchildren and grandson-in-law, Jesse Wilkerson of Christiansburg; Deborah Wilkerson of Roanoke; Suzanne and Doug Crapzar of Paxton, Mass.; four great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at Sherwood Memorial Park with the Rev. D. Michael Meloy officiating. The family will receive friends Friday evening from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home in Salem.
