SUMNER, JOSEPH A.

PULASKI - Joseph Arnold Sumner, age 86, of 10 Jill Drive, Pulaski, died Wednesday morning in the Pulaski Community Hospital. He was born in Carroll County, July 7, 1904, the son of the late Creed L. Sumner and Roxie Ogle Sumner. He was preceded in death by his wife, Roxie Dean Sumner and by two sisters, Ruby S. Horsley and Pearl S. Edmondson. Surviving are his wife, Venice M. (Susie) Sumner, Pulaski; a son and daughter-in-law, Arnold Clifford and Alene H. Sumner, Pulaski; one stepdaughter, Joyce W. Gardner, Hillsville; seven sisters, Esther S. Via, Pulaski; Gladys S. Moore, Washington D.C.; Rosa S. Stout, Washington, D.C.; Hazel S. Moore, Arlington; Lora S. Barnes, Arlington; Irene S. Fallin, Stony Creek; Minnie S. Barnes, Woodbine, Md.; one brother, Thomas Everett Sumner, Richmond; two grandsons, Randall C. Sumner, Pulaski; David H. Sumner, Maryville, Tenn.; one great-grandson, Chris Sumner, Pulaski; four stepgrandchildren. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. from the Stevens Funeral Chapel with the Rev. C. Maynard Powell officiating. Entombment will follow in the Highland Memory Garden Mausoleum, Dublin. Visiting will be Friday evening at Stevens Funeral Home where the family will receive friends from 7:00 until 9:00 p.m. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Joy Ranch Inc., P.O.
