OBIT SHEFFIELD, M.

Murl John Sheffield, age 51, died Friday, February 22, 1991, in the Johnston Memorial Hospital, Abingdon. He was a native of Florida and had lived in Williamsburg before moving to Chilhowie 28 years ago. He was a retired truck driver for the Brunswick Corporation and a United States Marine Corp Veteran. He is survived by his wife, Sandra Blevins Sheffield; two sons, Wayne Vincent Sheffield, Chase City; Leonard Allen Sheffield, Roanoke; one daughter, Tracey Amanda Carter, Chilhowie; two brothers, Vern Sheffield, Apison, Tenn.; Gerald Sheffield, Chilhowie; one sister, Inez Whiddon, Huntsville, Ala.; four grandchildren, Sarah Michelle Sheffield, Daniel Wayne Sheffield, John Benjamin Carter, and Amber Nicole Sheffield. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Sunday at the Williams Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Sidney Mays officiating. Burial will follow in the Mountain View Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Saturday at the Williams Funeral Home, Chilhowie.
