STORE ABDUCTION STORY CALLED A FAKE

A Galax woman who told police she was abducted from the video store where she works has been charged with making a false report, police said Friday.

Sherry Dawn Snyder was arrested after police investigated the report.

According to the account Snyder gave police, two men abducted her Monday night outside the Flick Video store on East Stuart Drive, took two of her credit cards and released her about 45 minutes later in the Cracker Neck area of Grayson County.

A news release from the Galax Police Department gave no reason why the woman would have fabricated the abduction report.
