Samuel Hartwell (G.I. Joe) Roberts, age 77, of 3196 Ivyland Drive, N.W., passed away on Saturday night. Survivors include his son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Paulette Roberts, Roanoke; two daughters, Ruth Jordan, Tulsa, Okla.; Deborah Pulley, Columbia, S.C.; son-in-law, Cornell Pulley, Columbia, S.C.; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; cousins including Mrs. Elinor Watson, Roanoke; and other relatives. The family headquarters will be at the home of his son, Kenneth, 1645 Garstland Drive, N.W. Hamlar-Curtis, Morticians.
