PROGRAM ON SLAVERY PLANNED IN WYTHE

The Wythe County Public Library will examine slavery in the county as part of its series of adult programs beginning today at 11 a.m.

John Johnson, chairman for last August's Civil War Re-enactment and a member of county's bicentennial committee last year, will lead the program. Johnson is writing a book on black cemeteries in the county.

The library also has a Black History exhibit this week. - Southwest bureau
