Frank Roughton Harvey will be at Thrasher Memorial United Methodist Church, 707 E. Washington Ave., for 7:15 performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. He also will be featured at the morning worship at 11.
Harvey, who has performed in other Virginia churches, began his career on the off-Broadway stage. As a member of the Screen Actors Guild, he performed character roles in many shows.
Later he felt drawn to ministry and attended theological seminary. In 1975, he founded Living Word Passion Play in Cambridge, Ohio.
Harvey said he has portrayed Jesus preaching the Sermon on the Mount, which contains basic teachings of Christianity, more than 6,000 times. He's performed for former president Jimmy Carter, the king of Jordan and as many as 50,000 people in major cities.
