KUWAITI PROFESSOR WANTS JOB IN HOMELAND

A Kuwaiti professor who is a visiting faculty member at the College of William and Mary thinks it could take as long as five years to return the country to its pre-invasion condition.

But Shafeeq Ghabra said he is ready to go back to teaching political science at Kuwait University in six months. If the university is able to open for classes in September, "I will be home by August," he said.

Ghabra escaped three months after Kuwait was occupied by Iraqi troops.

Ghabra said the university where he and his wife worked will have to be "re-established from scratch. They've taken everything. They didn't leave us one book." - Associated Press
