WYTHEVILLE, VA. -Miss Lector Porter of 1525 W. Main St., Wytheville, Va. died Sunday evening, March 3, 1991 at her residence after a long illness. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, March 5, 1991 at 2:00 p.m. at The Barnett Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Joe Carrico and the Rev. Gary Cope officiating. Entombment will be in the Highland Memory Gardens Mausoleum in Dublin, Va. She was born in Wythe County, Va., a daughter of the late Alexander Wise and Sally Rickey Porter. She was a member of the Olive Branch Methodist Church. She taught school in Wythe County for nine years and was employed with the Wythe County Department of Social Services for thirty five years. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Thomas L. Gravatt, Wytheville, Va.; one sister-in-law, Ann Gravatt, Roanoke, Va.; and several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at the Barnett Funeral Home from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Monday or at the residence at any time. The family suggests that those who prefer may make memorials to the American Cancer Society, the Wythe County Rescue Squad or to the Church of your choice. Barnett Funeral Home in Wytheville, Va., is in charge of the arrangements.
