TECH STUDENTS TO DO VOLUNTEER WORK IN IVANHOE

Students from Virginia Tech will be among about 50 young men and women spending their spring breaks doing volunteer community work in Ivanhoe, on the border of Wythe and Carroll counties.

The Tech volunteers will arrive next week, along with students from Marquette University in Milwaukee.

Arriving this week are students from Boston College; Holy Cross College in Worchester, Mass.; and Loyola College in Baltimore.

Others will be coming from Clemson (S.C.) University and the University of Missouri in Columbia the week of March 17-23.

This will be the fifth year that students have volunteered to come to Ivanhoe instead of spending spring breaks at home or at the beach.

The Ivanhoe Civic League will throw a party for Tech and Marquette students March 15 to thank them for their work.
