IN SPORTS-GOLF

Joseph C. Dey Jr., who held two of the most prestigious administrative jobs in golf, died at his home. He was 83.

Dey served 35 years as executive director of the U.S. Golf Association, from 1934-69, before becoming the first commissioner of the PGA Tour in 1969, a position he held until 1974.
