BRICK PLANT EXPLOSION INJURES 6 FIREFIGHTERS

A propane gas explosion destroyed a warehouse Monday minutes after workers fled the building.

No employees were injured, but six firefighters were hurt battling the blaze.

John Hall, vice president of sales for Virginia Clay Products Inc., said gas from a leaking hose on a Virginia Propane Inc. truck spewed into the building. The truck was filling portable tanks.

The injured firefighters were taken to Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg suffering from minor burns and smoke inhalation. All were treated and released. - Associated Press
