MARION ADVANCES IN REGION IV

David Keith scored 19 points and dished out eight assists as Marion beat visiting Graham 81-58 on Tuesday and advanced to the Region IV basketball tournament semifinals.

The Scarlet Hurricane (22-2) advances to a semifinal game at Blacksburg on Thursday night at 7:30.

Shannon Archer and Jason Null had 17 points each and Eric Hungate added 12 for the Scarlet Hurricane from the Highlands District.

Randy Moore with 14 points led the G-Men of the Southwest District.

Marion started strongly and led 23-10 after one quarter, but Graham came back with its own strong effort, pulling to 38-35 at halftime. The Scarlet Hurricane took control in the third quarter, picking up its defense to get layups in a 20-8 third-quarter effort. see microfilm for box score
