Opie Eldridge McDaniel, age 74, died Tuesday evening in a Pearisburg hospital. Born in Monroe County, W. Va., he was the son of the late Andrew Peyton and Sarah McGhee McDaniel. He was a retired employee of the Hoechst-Celanese Plant at Narrows. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Virginia Smith McDaniel. Surviving are one brother, Marshall McDaniel, Peterstown, W. Va.; four sisters, Annie Cantiberry and Kate Pence, both of Lindside, W. Va.; Ruth Maddy of Daniel, W. Va; Irene Holsomback, Newport News, Va. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, March 8, 1991, at 2:00 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel, Pembroke, with burial in Birchlawn Burial Park, Pearisburg. Friends may call at the funeral home anytime Thursday evening.
