WEIGHT-LIFTING STUDENTS TO HELP FIGHT CANCER

The American Cancer Society's 14th annual Lifting Pounds to Beat Cancer will be held March 18 at Radford High School. Weigh-ins begin at 6:30 p.m., and the competition begins at 7 p.m.

High school and middle school students will raise funds by collecting pledges. Each participant is given three lifts on an AAU Bench Press, and his or her best effort is counted. Each participant is required to raise a minimum of $25 in pledges.

Although the contest matches school areas against one another, it is designed to allow even the smallest school equal opportunity to win. Individual and team awards will be given.
