WRONG NEIGHBORHOOD/ PIZZA BUSINESSES WON'T DELIVER

ONCE I WAS asked, "Do you think prejudice exist in the Roanoke Valley?" I commented that I was too young to have lived through much prejudice in my life. But lately I've paid attention to things going on in my community.

I called two local pizza businesses. I was told that because of the part of Tenth Street I live on, they could not deliver to my house after 7 p.m.

To me this is discrimination. In my household we have ordered many pizzas and never had a problem. Why was the privilege taken away? It is because our neighborhood is black. If I'm ever asked again if I have seen discrimination, the answer is clearly - yes. CHRISTA HALL ROANOKE
