PUBLIC MEETING SET ON RECYCLING ISSUES

"Recycling and Waste Management: A Reality for the 21st Century" will be presented March 28 at 7:30 p.m.

The public meeting, which is being sponsored by the League of Women Voters of Montgomery County, will be held in council chambers at the Blacksburg Municipal Building. Several panelists from private and public entities will be on-hand to answer tough questions on trash, recycling, and garbage collections.

Panelists include representatives from the state waste management board, the Montgomery County Public Works Department, the towns of Blacksburg and Christiansburg, Virginia Tech, the New River Valley Planning District Commission and the Montgomery County Improvement Council.

Cycle Systems Inc., Kroger and Hoechst-Celanese also will have representatives attend the meeting, which will be carried live on Channel 24, Blacksburg's public access channel.
