RELIGION BRIEFS

Calvary United Methodist Church, 845 Hemlock Road, Salem, has scheduled revival services March 24-27. Guest preacher the Rev. Bradford Phillips of Huntington Court United Methodist Church will speak nightly at 7:30. For transportation, call 986-1928 after 4:30 p.m.

\ THE REV. WILLIAM BOLDIN of Shenandoah and\ THE REV. JEFF MARBLE of Luray will present a musical program Friday at 7:30 p.m. to benefit the Roanoke Area Ministries. The two Lutheran clergymen will play bluegrass/gospel/folk style selections at Trinity Lutheran Church, Williamson Road at Epperly Avenue Northwest. A minimal offering of $1 is requested along with a can or package of food.

\ GREEN RIDGE BAPTIST CHURCH has selected R. Tyler Burkett as its minister of youth. He is coming from a similar job at Huguenot Road Baptist Church in Richmond.

\ THE FELLOWSHIP OF CHRISTIAN ATHLETES, which Sinkfield has groups in 13 Western Virginia high schools, will hear Willie Sinkfield March 21. The monthly breakfast will be at 7 a.m. at Calvary Baptist Church. Sinkfield, FCA representative for the Hampton Roads area, won all-star honors in several sports in a Tennessee high school. He is preparing for ministry in the African Methodist Episcopal Church.

\ Evon Gammons, of Stuart will conduct revival services Friday through Sunday at Maranatha Fellowship Church, 2715 Green Ridge Road. Gammons, from Harvest Worship Center, will preach weeknights at 7:30 and on Sunday at 10:30 a.m. and 6 p.m.

\ THE REV. NELSON HARRIS, pastor of Ridgewood Baptist Church, is the author of "Understanding Alcoholism," which appears in the current issue of "The Deacon," a Southern Baptist magazine.
