John A. Benois, age 92, formerly of Eden Drive, Roanoke, died March 13, in Knoxville, Tenn. where he lived with his granddaughter. He was born and raised in Starkey, was a Brakeman for the Norfolk & Western Railway; He worked for Central Manufacturing and Home Valley and Skyline Lumber Companies. After "retiring" he worked as security for Ward Mobile Homes and was parking lot attendant in downtown Roanoke. In the early 1970's he was a member of First United Methodist Church in Salem. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Lucille Reed. Survived by a daughter, Edna Duvall, Salem; grandson, Rolf Duvall, Deltona, Fla.; granddaughter, Sharon Reed Crisp; great-grandchildren, Dawn Darr and Ty Crisp, all of Knoxville, Tenn.; several loving nieces and nephews, a special friend and care giver, Martha Howell. Graveside services will be 12:00 noon Friday at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. Arrangements by Oakey's Roanoke Chapel.
