ARTICLES ON GAYS BROUGHT NEW INSIGHTS

ALTHOUGH I don't condone homosexuality in any way, the points discussed in your Jan. 27 news articles make sense and should be acknowledged.

The idea that homosexuality should be seen as a possible strike against one's record in the work place is wrong. Homosexuality is something I wish not to associate myself with, but there are rights and freedoms that allow people to choose. The fact that a person is homosexual should have no bearing on job qualifications. As the article stated, job discrimination is second only to violence in people's responses and actions on this controversial issue.

Although, in my opinion, homosexuality is not "natural," times change, and we need to learn to deal with the changes. The article brought new insight and information to me. I hope it can change other skeptics' minds as it did mine. SHAWN McFADDEN ROANOKE
