Morgan's homer in the top of the third inning tied the score at 2-2. The Highlanders pulled ahead 3-2 in the fourth on Rob Amos' RBI single.
In the fifth, Ben Chow, who went 2-for-4, drove in a run with his single and later scored on a bases-loaded walk to Mike Hurt for a 5-2 lead. Rob Cassels, who went 2-for-4, scored in the sixth to make it 6-2.
Richmond pulled to 6-5 on Mark Foster's three-run homer in the seventh inning.
Morgan's single in the eighth scored Donnie Just, who went 3-for-6, for a 7-5 lead, and the Highlanders, who had 14 hits, added another run in the ninth on Amos' sacrifice fly.
The Spiders (6-7) scored again in the bottom of the ninth, but the Highlanders held on.
Vic Hatcher got the victory for Radford (5-10-3), striking out six, walking five and allowing five hits and four earned runs over seven innings. Chris Connolly earned his first save.
