SALVATION ARMY NAMES ADVISORY BOARD OFFICERS

John M. Shumate Jr. has been Shumate selected to chair the advisory board for the Salvation Army in Roanoke. He has served on the board since 1970.

Also appointed as officers were Donald Bartol, vice chairman; Virginia Moore, secretary; and Inez Ripley, treasurer.

The Roanoke Salvation Army operation includes family services, shelters for the homeless and for abused women and their children, a community center and a salvage and thrift store operation.
