Cheryl Miller of Southern California was selected as the captain of an all-decade women's NCAA basketball team announced to celebrate 10 years of the women's championships.

Louisiana Tech placed two players on the team, Janice Lawrence and Teresa Weatherspoon, which required that the player had participated in a Women's Final Four.

\ Max Truex, one of America's greatest distance runners, died Sunday. He was 55.

In the 1960 Olympics in Rome, Truex ran the fastest 10,000-meter race by any American in track history to that point.
