MALI PRESIDENT SAID CAPTURED BY TROOPS

Soldiers in Mali have arrested Gen. Moussa Traore following days of rioting and protests against the embattled president, a human rights activist in Mali was quoted as saying early today.

Drissa Traore, president of the Mali Barristers' Association, told the French news agency Agence France-Presse in Bamako, the Mali capital, that military sources had informed him of the president's detention. There was no official confirmation of the report. - Associated Press
