Ada Blanche (Nannie) Chafin Capps, age 81, of 910 College Street, died Monday, March 25, 1991 in the Montgomery Regional Hospital. She was a retired employee of C&P Telephone, a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church, McDaniel Chapter #47, Order of the Eastern Star, the Women of the Moose and the New River Arts Council. She is survived by two daughters, Dodie Simmons, Barbara Capps, both of Christiansburg; a sister, Elizabeth Hoback, Cocoa, Fla.; four grandchildren, Steven Simmons, Terry "Owen" Ireland, David Simmons and Kathie Simmons Matney; and three great-grandchildren. The funeral will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday from St. Paul United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Richard J. Geoghegan, Jr. with burial in Sunset Cemetery. An OES memorial service will be Wednesday at 8:00 p.m. in the Richardson-Horne Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the charity of one's choice. Friends may call Wednesday and Thursday at the funeral home and the family will receive friends there from 7:00 until 9:00 Wednesday evening. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
