Archaelogical work at Poplar Forest, Jefferson's 185-year-old octagonal house, during the winter months revealed new details about its design and its wing of offices, according to officials at the non-profit organization, which has been working to restore the site since 1984.
This spring, visitors will see the main house as it was when Jefferson was building it - and as it won't be seen again once a construction phase of restoration begins.
Visitors can tour the grounds from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesdays through Sundays and on some holidays through October.
