Samuel Waddill Quinn of Fairmont Farm in Piney River, died March 27, 1991, at his home. His wife was the late Josephine Massie Quinn. He was born May 18, 1891, son of the late John Hiram Quinn and Agnes Waddill Quinn. He was a farmer and a member of Rose Union Baptist Church and Fleetwood Harmony Masonic Lodge No. 92 for seventy three years. He is survived by four daughters, Frances (Winkie) Quinn and Helen Q. Norvelle, both of Piney River; Agnes Q. Clarkson of Arrington; and Ethel Q. Fainter, Natural Bridge Station; a grandson, George M. Clarkson, Piney River; a granddaughter, Molly C. Gerke, Arrington; and a sister, Louise Q. Hilbish, Bedford. Graveside service will be conducted at Amherst Cemetery Friday 11:00 a.m. by the Rev. Morris Campbell and the Rev. David Deming with Masonic Rites by Lodge No. 92 taking part in the service. The family will receive friends at Piney River Funeral home Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. and other times at the home.
