2 BEDFORD BURGLARS DRAW 15-YEAR TERMS

A judge Wednesday ordered two men to spend 15 years in prison for a string of burglaries at Bedford County construction sites and homes.

The men could have faced sentences of more than 400 years.

Kenneth Eugene Brady Jr., 28, had pleaded guilty to 12 counts of breaking and entering and 12 counts of grand larceny.

Circuit Judge William Sweeney sentenced him to 15 years in prison for each of 23 of the counts - with the terms to run at the same time. On the 24th count, Brady got a one-year suspended sentence.

Darel Wayne Johnson, 23, had pleaded guilty to 11 counts of breaking and entering and 11 counts of grand larceny.

Sweeney sentenced him to 15 years for each of 21 of the counts - with the terms to run concurrently. For the 22nd count, Johnson got a one-year suspended sentence.
