TEACHER FILES CHARGES AGAINST 9-YEAR-OLD

An elementary school teacher filed assault and battery charges against a 9-year-old pupil. The teacher, Kim Conner, has also filed a charge that the student threatened to kill her, police said.

At about 9:30 a.m. the special education student at Matthew Whaley Elementary refused to go to class and began running wildly around the school halls, police Lt. Bruce Press said. The child allegedly struck Connor repeatedly on both arms as she tried to restrain him.
