Bristol-Myers Squibb Co. said Tuesday it has filed for government permission to market the anti-AIDS drug known as ddI, which would become the second approved therapy that slows the progression of AIDS.

Trans World Airlines Inc. said Tuesday it has hired legal advisers in case it is forced to seek court protection from creditors under the federal bankruptcy law. TWA says it lost $237.6 million last year and has so far failed to negotiate wage and benefit cuts with its employees.

United Airlines has shown a renewed interest in acquiring large parts of Pan American World Airways in talks between the carriers in recent weeks, two people in the industry say.
