The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Michael L. Stanley of Clintwood, Va., and the granddaughter of Voretta Mullins of Haysi, Va., and Joy Hensley of Johnson City, Tennessee. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph Wayne Anderson of Roanoke, and the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Alvin W. Johnston, and Lula G. Anderson and the late Hobson B. Anderson, all of Roanoke.
The bride, escorted to the alter by her father, wore an original white satin gown with pearl and chantilly lace accents. Her headpiece featured a wreath of pearls and lace and was attached at the back with a waist length veil of illusion. She carried a bouquet of cascading peach roses and baby's breath.
The bride's sister, Jill Goins of Clintwood, served as honor attendant and April Stanley, also of Clintwood, younger sister of the bride, served as bridesmaid, The groom's father served as best man, and ushers were Mike Eckles of Roanoke, and Troy Brown of Rocky Mount. The flowergirl was Tessa Kendrick, and ringbearer was Scott Kendrick, both of Clintwood. The groom's cousin, Pat Wallen of Bristol, Tennessee, served as guestbook attendant. The wedding music was beautifully provided by Linda Whitaker and her daughter, Amy.
A rehearsal dinner, given by the groom's parents, was held Friday evening at D.J's Brasserie. The wedding reception was held in the church fellowship hall.
The bride is a 1988 graduate of Clintwood High School, and the groom is a 1988 graduate of Cave Spring High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. Both the bride and groom are employed in Roanoke. After a brief wedding trip, the couple will make their home here.
