ALLEGED RAPE VICTIM TOOK ITEMS AS PROOF

The alleged victim of a rape at the Kennedy compound took an urn and photo from the mansion to prove she had been there, says a friend who picked her up at the estate.

Anne Mercer said she went to the Kennedy estate when her 29-year-old friend called her at 4:30 a.m. on March 30 and pleaded to be picked up.

The Palm Beach County woman has accused William Kennedy Smith, a medical student at Georgetown University in Washington and a nephew of Sen. Edward Kennedy, of sexually assaulting her at the Kennedy estate. Smith, 30, has denied any wrongdoing.
