BEATEN WITH STICK, MAN TELLS OFFICERS

A Roanoke County man told city police that he was beaten with a stick early today after he was attacked by a group of men on Dona Road Northwest.

Wayne A. Combs, 25, of Daytona Road, was held for observation at Roanoke Memorial Hospital, police said.

Combs said he went to the area about 3 a.m. to "make a purchase," and was pulled out of the car he was in and beaten by several men.
