Mr. Homer Thomas Covey, age 81, of Blacksburg passed away Thursday, April 11, 1991. He was a patternmaker at Lynchburg Foundry when he retired after 41 years of service. He had served as president of the Local Chapter of the United Steel Workers Union for 13 years. He was a member for 36 years of the Radford Fire and Rescue Department. He retired to Titusville, Fla. and had recently returned to Blacksburg. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Baldwin Covey; one daughter, Edith C. Lilly of Blacksburg; three grandchildren, Susan Pennington, Stephen Lilly, and Jackie Lemmon; and six great-grandchildren. The memorial service will be held Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Devilbiss Funeral Home in Radford.
