NO INJURIES IN DRIVE-BY FIRINGS IN ALBEMARLE

No one has been hurt in a rash of drive-by shootings in Albemarle County, police say.

Shots were fired from a vehicle at nine oncoming trucks and cars Wednesday night and Thursday afternoon.

The sniper is using a large-caliber handgun or rifle, said Sgt. Richard Martin of the Albermarle County Police Department.

Police have received several possible descriptions of the vehicle: a large, dark late-model car, a small dark pickup with a silver camper shell or a blue Subaru or Toyota.
