JOHNSTON-KENLEY

Myra Leigh Kenley and William Kenneth Johnston were married April 13 at two o'clock at Old Brick Presbyterian Church in Radford. Rev. Joe McCoy performed a double ring ceremony.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Alice Christian, of Christiansburg, and Jerry Kenley, of Rocky Gap, Va. The groom is the son of Mrs. Barbara S. Johnston, of Memphis, Tenn., and the late Rufus J. Johnston.

The bride was escorted to the altar by her grandfather, Robert L. Bratton.

The bride wore a white acetate satin gown with soft ruffles that play up off the shoulder. The lacy collar with simulated pearls points out the embroidered portrait neckline. Chantilly lace peers from beneath the bow adorned skirt and train. Intricate floral venise lace accents the deep V-back.

The bride carried a large cascading bouquet made up of white roses, royal blue roses, blue cornflowers and white freesia. White lace fans and pearls streamers adorned the bouquet as they trailed to the very last rosebud at the end of the cascade.

Maid of honor was Kim Martin, of Christiansburg, the bride's best friend. Bridesmaids were Sherri Kenley, of Christiansburg, the bride's sister-in-law, and Debbie Alan, of Memphis, Tenn., the groom's sister. The maid of honor and bridesmaids wore royal blue taffeta tea length dresses. Kim Martin, maid of honor, carried a small white Bible with a spray of white roses, blue cornflower and pearls and lace streamers attached to the top of the Bible. The bridesmaids carried Bibles identical to that of the maid of honor.

Flowergirls were Paige Kenley, the bride's niece, daughter of Mike and Kathy Kenley, of Pilot, Katy Martin, daughter of Pat Martin, of Christiansburg, and Larry Martin, of Radford. Katy Martin wore a white taffeta tea length dress while Paige Kenley wore a white taffeta jumpsuit. The outfits had royal blue accents. Both girls carried baskets trimmed in royal blue.

Maid of honor, bridesmaids', and flowergirls' outfits were made by Correen Martin, of Christiansburg.

Best man was Bobby Kenley, of Christiansburg, brother of the bride. Ushers were Mike Kenley, of Pilot, brother of the bride, and Steve Overfelt, of Blacksburg, friend of the groom.

Flowers were furnished by Christiansburg Florist. Pictures were taken by Dodson Photography.

After the couple lit the unity candle, Pat Dodson, the organist, played "Through The Eyes of Love." Eddie Peterman, of Christiansburg, cousin of the bride, directed the wedding. Attending the guestbook were Wilma Peterman, of Christiansburg, cousin of the bride, and Kathryn Alan, of Memphis, Tenn., niece of the groom.

The reception was given by the bride's mother at the Best Western Inn Radford. Attendants that served at the reception were Rita Martin, Mary Peterman, Carletta Phillips, all of Christiansburg, and Pat Overfelt, of Blacksburg.

The bride is a graduate of Auburn High School. She is employed by Days Inn of Christiansburg and Montgomery County Schools.

The groom is a graduate of W.A. Berry High School in Birmingham, Ala. He is employed by Blacksburg Cable T.V.

After a honeymoon through Tennessee, the couple will live in Christiansburg.
