Sales for the second quarter rose to $25.8 million, a 6 percent increase compared with $24.4 million in the same period last year. Total revenues for the second quarter rose 9 percent to $34.8 million, compared with $31.8 million a year earlier. Net income was a record $1.7 million compared with $1.3 million a year earlier, an increase of 28 percent. Earnings per share as adjusted to give effect retroactively to additional shares issued on March 26, 1991, as a result of the 5-for-4 split, were 24 cents on a primary basis and 22 cents on a fully diluted basis, compared with 20 cents on both a primary and fully diluted basis for the comparable period last year.
