COMPANY REFUNDS MONEY FOR BASKET ORDER

Q: I'm writing to see if you can find out why I haven't received an order from an American Family ad that was in Parade magazine.

I ordered six wicker baskets last September for $39.75. I did receive a notice sometime after I ordered, saying that I would receive my order within 60 days from the date I ordered.

I have heard nothing since then. They said I would receive a refund if I wanted to cancel the order. I told them I wanted the baskets or a refund. Can you find out why the delay? - Ellen Dickerson, Blacksburg

A: Quickline contacted American Family, which is one of several companies operated by The NSI Cos. of Huntington Station, N.Y.

A refund for $39.75 has been issued to you, said Joan Phillips of the customer service center.

If you do not receive it, contact Quickline again.

Product back-ordered

Q: I ordered an exercise product called Maxi-Glider for $37.90 in December from Healthstyle. I have written two letters asking for the product or a refund, but have not received an answer to either. G.H., Roanoke

A: The item you requested is back-ordered, said Joan Phillips of The NSI Cos.' customer service center. NSI also operates as Healthstyle.

Phillips said you should notify Healthstyle whether you wish to wait or cancel the order and receive a refund.
