Mrs. Minta Clapp Hammond, age 88, died Wednesday evening in Roanoke. She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Joan Shortt of Roanoke; one brother, Mr. L. B. Clapp of Meadowview. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville, Va., with the Rev. Billy Gillespie and the Rev. Dwight Henry officiating. The burial will follow in the Mount Rose Cemetery in Glade Spring, Va. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 Friday evening at the Henderson Funeral Home in Saltville.
