FIGHT ENDS IN SHOOTING; 2 MEN CHARGED IN GILES

Two Montgomery County men were charged Thursday in the shooting of another man earlier this week, the Giles Sheriff's Department said.

Christopher Skidmore, 23, was charged with malicious wounding and use of a firearm and Curtis S. Hall, 24, was charged with two counts of misdemeanor assault and driving with a suspended license, investigator Bill Stables said.

Danny Gordon Long, 25, was shot once in the foot Tuesday night with a .25-caliber semi-automatic pistol. He was released after treatment at Montgomery Regional Hospital.

Stables said a group of about five men were involved in a fight, apparently over two women, near the New River Park section of Giles County around 9 p.m. Some of them had been drinking, he said.

An arraignment was set for Tuesday in Giles County General District Court.
