Sally Meriwether Lee and Matson Lamar Roberts were married April 20, 1991
in Johns Memorial Episcopal Church. The officiating clergyman was the Rev.
Allie Washington Frazier, Jr., assisted by the Rev. Daniel Owen Worthington,
Jr. The reception was held at Wedgewood Country Club in Farmville. The maid of
honor was Miss Kathleen Hunt Brantley of Roanoke. The bridesmaids were Mrs.
Lee Kenneth Foote of Lincoln University, Pa.; Mrs. John Wagner Helms of
Roswell, Ga.; Miss Susan Sanford Houska, of Laguna Niguel, Calif.; Mrs. John
Marshall Lee, Jr., of Farmville; Miss Amanda Evelyn Walker of Reno, Nevada.
The best man was Mr. Lamar Hudson Roberts, father of the groom. The groomsmen
were Mr. John Wagner Helms of Roswell, Ga.; Mr. Powell Smith of Atlanta, Ga.;
Mr. John Marshall, Jr., of Farmville; Mr. Raymond McLeod Warren of Roswell,
Ga.; Mr. Preston Roy Miller of Winston-Salem, N.C. The bride wore her mother's
gown of cream peau satin and Alencon lace, and the groom's mother's veil of
Brussels lace. She carried a bouquet of gardenias and spring flowers. The
bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Marshall Lee of Farmville. She is a
graduate of Hollins College, and is employed by Dominion Bank. The groom, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Lamar Hudson Roberts of Atlanta, Ga., is a graduate of
Washington and Lee University, and is employed by Southern Air Company,
Lynchburg. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after the wedding trip to St.
Lucia Island.
