John Richard Wimmer, age 56, of Salem died Saturday, April 20, 1991. Surviving are his daughter, Teresa Wimmer of Richmond; a son and daughter-in-law, John Allan and Kristi Wimmer of Salem; brothers, Mark Forest Wimmer, Salem; Ervin Wimmer, Chesapeake; Billy Wimmer, Allan Wimmer, and Earl Wimmer, all of Salem; sisters, Mary Ellen Laprad, New Castle; Lillian Wells, Virginia Beach; Joyce Long, Hampton. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. at the Beamer Family Cemetery (which is on Harborwood Road, 3 1/2 miles off of West Main Street in Salem) with the Rev. Forest Wells officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Locust Grove United Methodist Church Organ Fund, 3415 Locust Grove Lane, Salem, Va., 24153, or the American Cancer Society.
