LUCAS, HARRY R.

Harry Rucker Lucas, age 89 of Roanoke, died Wednesday. He was a retired district manager for Murphy Oil Company of El Dorado, Arkansas. Mr. Lucas was a member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church, Melrose Masonic Lodge, and Elks Lodge #197. Mr. Lucas was a son of the late Samuel R. and Mollie Newcomb Lucas. Surviving are his wife, Nell Najjum Lucas, a number of nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the Building Fund at our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church. A prayer service will be conducted 7:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke Chapel. Funeral mass will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with the Rev. Kenneth Stofft officiating. Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. Thursday at Oakey's Roanoke.
