CHRISTIANSBURG MAN PLEADS GUILTY IN DRUG SALE
The owner of a Christiansburg used car business pleaded guilty in U.S. District Court in Roanoke on Thursday to selling a half-ounce of cocaine to an undercover federal agent in July 1990.George Edward Belcher, 36, of Christiansburg, owner of Christiansburg Quality Cars, was introduced to the undercover Drug Enforcement Administration officer by an informant on July 17, 1990, in Roanoke, according to Assistant U.S. Attorney Tom Bondurant.
After a brief conversation, Belcher sold the agent a half-ounce of cocaine for $700. He also discussed making future transactions with the agent, Bondurant said.
A lab analysis showed the cocaine to be 6.2 percent pure.
Belcher is scheduled to be sentenced April 2.
