CRIME LINE
A robbery of a bank deposit in Southwest Roanoke is the subject of this month's Crime Line.On Oct. 7 at 10:30 a.m., a woman was robbed as she entered the Crestar Bank branch at 2112 Colonial Ave. S.W. A man grabbed the deposit from her hand and was last seen running down the embankment behind the Baskin Robbins store on Brandon Avenue. The robber is described as a man in his mid-20s, 6 feet to 6 feet 2 inches tall, 190 pounds, with short, dark hair and wearing a gray sweat suit.
Rewards of up to $1,000 are being offered for information that leads to arrest and indictment in connection with this and other crimes. Anyone with information may call 344-8500 and give the information anonymously. The caller is given a number that is used for identification and need not give a name.
