DOWDY, CECIL R.

Cecil Ribble Dowdy, age 79, died Wednesday, January 8, 1992, in Radford Community Hospital. He was born in Montgomery County on September 2, 1912, to the late Arthur A. Dowdy and Effie Ratcliff Dowdy. Mr. Dowdy retired from R.A.A.P. in 1972. Surviving are his wife, Minnie Martin Dowdy; two sons and daughters-in-law, Mitchell and Ruth Dowdy, Billy and Lola Dowdy, all of Blacksburg; one granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Fay and Maynard Quesenberry, Blacksburg; one grandson and granddaughter-in-law, Robert and Diana Dowdy, Blacksburg; two great-grandchildren, Mitch and Angie Dowdy, Blacksburg; a special friend, Frances Cupp, Blacksburg. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 10, at Merrimac Pentecostal Holiness Church. The Rev. Jerry Sloss will officiate. Interment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Gardens, Christiansburg. The family will receive friends Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. at McCoy Funeral Home.
